Applications for volunteers are open!
St Albans Folk Festival is entirely volunteer run: there are no paid employees.
The festival will run over three days, 24-26 April 2026.
Festival volunteers
Almost 100 volunteers arrive from Thursday 23 April to help bring Sn’albans to life. Volunteers are the heart of our festival! From friendly greeters to festival office helpers there many ways to contribute.
Volunteers are expected to work 9 hours over the festival period (24-26 April, depending on the role).
We aim to match your role to your skills at interests, which is why we have so many questions in the application form.
Set up and pack down volunteers
In April the festival site emerges from almost nothing during a one-week set up period. We begin on Monday 20 April to prepare paddocks, build stages, and decorate. After the setup, volunteers get to enjoy the festival as a celebration of their hard work.
On Sunday 26 April, the pack down crew starts work. While most of the site can be struck that day, it can take a few days to have the grounds returned to their pre-festival state.
