Artist applications for the 2027 St Albans Folk Festival are open!

Applications close: 27 September 2026

St Albans Folk Festival runs Friday 23 until Sunday 25 April 2027

We are based in rural New South Wales, Australia.

We invite musicians, dancers, poets and singers who perform traditional and contemporary folk to apply for our 2027 event.

As well as stage acts, we welcome artists who can lead sessions, teach workshops, give talks, or who are street performers.

2027 Festival theme

We always include performers representing non-English speaking traditions and each year we highlight a different cultural group. For the 2027 festival, we particularly invite applications from performers of Balkan or Eastern European music, dance, poetry, or other traditions, to apply.

The theme encompasses traditions from countries including, but not limited to, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and neighbouring countries.

KidsFest

We are expanding our KidsFest! If you are a performer with an act suitable for families, encourage you to apply!

Before you apply

If you have not attended St Albans Folk Festival before, please carefully read our Camping, FAQs and Getting There pages.

The majority of our artists camp. We have extremely limited billeting options. For this reason billets are reserved for performers with medical needs, or those who are from interstate or overseas.

All artists who perform at St Albans Folk Festival must hold Public Liability Insurance for the duration of the event. Do not attach a PLI certificate that expires before the 2027 festival in your application.
